The Great Texas Multi Gun Championship!!!

Well most of y'all know that last weekend I packed up my rifle, shotgun, and pistol along with over 1500 rounds of various ammunition and 200 pounds of gear and headed down to Liberty Hill, Texas for the 2011 Texas Multi Gun Championship.  Our trip started Thursday before noon and wrapped up late Sunday evening...and I made it back in one piece!
There were 11 stages this year and those stages had shots that ranged from a few feet all the way out to 480 yards!  I even got to shoot a grenade launcher!  It was a chalk grenade...but how many of you can say you've shot a grenade launcher?  They also made me reload my shotgun...over...and over....and over....and over...and over....

This ended up being the largest 3 gun match in the history of 3 gun competition with just shy of 400 competitors!  It attracted competitors of various backgrounds and abilities...including grand master Jerry Miculek and 3 Gun guru Taran Butler as well as LaRue Tactical own Adam Popwell and Trip Mcinvale!  Look them up on youtube and you'll see what I was up against...not really I never had a chance at those guys! I ended up finishing 223rd! Hahaha.

Anyway here are a few pics that a buddy of mine took.  Lane and Dad came up for the weekend but I haven't got my Dad's pics yet.  I also have some videos but I'm not really ready to embarrass myself like that just yet!
This was from stage 5.  I'm not posting the pistol pics...I'm not happy with my mechanics...
Anyway...first pic is a clay thrown from a popper...second pic is a smoked clay!  The wind was blowing the clays at approximately 250MPH to towards that tower!

These are a few pics of Stage 6.  The first thing you have to do was kick down the door of a landing craft and fire a 46mm chalk grenade about 20 yards into a 4X8 "fuel depot"...upon neutralizing the fuel depot you run to a bunker and engage targets at 100, 200, 300, 400, and 480 yds.  You must hit the first to move on and once you hit the 480 you start over from the next bunker.  I cleared the first bunker and got out to 200 in the second.

2nd bunker

stage 7 or 8...i dont remmeber...

I spent ALOT of time doing this!  Reloading my shotgun.  One video I sat there for 10 seconds reloading.  It killed my score.

Stage 4

8 close in shotgun targets...plus a 105yd slug target.  8 close in rifles and 6 105yd rifle targets.

Mark LaRues Deuce and a halfs.

The first target was a terrorist disguised as a roll of carpet...had to kill him with the bayonet.

This is a pic of me trying to clear a pistol malfunction...the dust SUCKED!

Finally I got my rifle...I LOVE my rifle...HATE my pistol!

Here you can see the targets at approximately 110 yards.

This was stage two...we didn't get to shoot the MG and the mortar was a fake...but it was fun none the less!

This is a pic Mark Fingar took while I was shooting. Fingar is LaRue's photographer...he always says hello and he always makes sure to snap a few pics of me.  He's supposed to have some of Lane and I but I haven't got them yet.
