Texas Reds Festival

So for the past few years I've always wanted to go downtown and check out the Texas Reds Festival. This was our first year and we really did have a good time. It was extremely HOT and we didn't get to taste any wine or steak...but we still had a good time and look forward to next year. We spent most of our time in the Kid Zone until after dinner when we found a nice comfy chunk of concrete to occupy while listening to Earl Thomas Conley...so without any more delay here are some pictures from Saturday afternoon (P.S. stay tuned for the adventure of Mr Charlie Blue Fish):

Layla hasn't been feeling 100% so she did alot of this:

but she did wake up after a little while:

and got a little rowdy once the sun started to go down:

Lane had a lot of fun on the many kiddo games they had...he even caught a fish...kinda...

This harness was a little too big:

Lane Nanny and PawPaw:

Didn't quite know what to do with this guy:

Oh and Lane found some grapes and decided to help himself:

Not scared of anything:

OK we'll thats it for now...Nanny and PawPaw bought Lane a little fish so when he wakes up from his nap we're gonna set up Mr. Charlies bowl....stay tuned...

A Walk through Old Down Town Bryan

So today June 20th, 2009 the Duke family was accompanied by the Ely family to the Texas Red's Festival and I decided to take a few pictures of some of Old Bryan...just the signs...so here they are:

Queen Theatre:

Locomotive Engine in town for Texas Reds:

Old Hotel Bryan above Los Nortenos (good Mexican Breakfast):

La Salle Hotel:

La Salle after dark:

Howell Grocery ( over the River Bridge Cafe...Good cheap burgers):

The old Palace Theatre:

Carnegie Library:

Well folks it's late and we've had a big day from the lake to the festival so we're gonna call it a night. Be sure to check in some time tomorrow and I'll have the pictures from our Texas Red's fest with the Ely's and Nannie and Papa posted and all of the fun and exciting stories. I've noticed that most "blogs" are "stories" I like to tell mine through pictures but I have realized that not everything is caught on camera...so you all can look forward to some ...hopefully more frequent...updates with some of our funny stories...like the time Lane acquired some grapes from a less than legal method.....

Stay Tuned!

This was supposed to be LIVE from the festival but it's a few hours
late.
HEY FOLKS...were still here just been BUSY lately...

Here are a few pictures of the kids and some of our day at Lake Bryan
